			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: Arial;"><strong>What is a Marker?</strong> <span style="font-size: small;">The main role of a marker is to assist Singles players in their game. A  marker should be unobtrusive in order to allow the players to play their game  without distractions or additional stress. They should know their duties and be  a good judge of distance. Duties include: answering questions about the head,  measuring, chalking touchers, keeping score, etc. (see IBB  Laws of the Game, especially Law 72, Duties of a  Marker)</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Markers Clinic</span></strong> to be  presented at Oak Bay LBC, Carnaervon Park, Oak Bay on <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Thursday, 24  (not 29) June at 7:00 p.m.</span></strong> (approx. 1-1/2 hours) by Nick Watkins  from Juan de Fuca LBC.  If you&#8217;d like to know more about being a Marker for  a Lawn Bowling Singles Game, please give your name to Games Chairs, Lorne  Carnes (250-384-5499) or Carol Bogart (250-386-7628)</span></span></span></span></p>
